In A Photographic Journey Across Borders, Vahid Valikhani reflects on the evolution of his work navigating place, identity, and artistic expression across Iran and the United States. Moving between documentary, portraiture, landscapes, and street photography, his practice reveals how personal history, political borders, and cultural transitions shape the act of seeing.
Through straight photography interwoven with symbolic visual language, Valikhani reclaims freedom of expression while tracing experiences of displacement and isolation after immigrating to the U.S. His work becomes both a tool of navigation and a means of reconnection—an ongoing exploration of how images hold memory and open space for resilience.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
