Presentation of my experiences teaching the History of Photography at San Quentin State Prison, with a selection of my students' responses to renowned works. Emphasis will be given to their voices and to their analyses of works considered by outside culture as shining a light on mass incarceration. Do they? I'll present, too, the outcomes and excerpts of the "Images + Mass Incarceration" curriculum, designed for high-schoolers, that the men and I co-wrote.
