Muriel Hasbun

Muriel Hasbun's expertise as an artist and as an educator focuses on cultural identity and memory, and on promoting cultural exchange. A Fulbright Scholar (2006-08), Hasbun is the recipient of numerous distinctions, including most recently a U.S. Department of State and AAM Museums Connect grant (2011-12) and a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Awards in Photography (2012).

Hasbun's work has been internationally exhibited. Recent venues include: Maier Museum of Art (2012); Smithsonian American Art Museum, Light Work and Mexican Cultural Institute (2011). Similarly, her photographs are in numerous private and public collections, including the Art Museum of the Americas, District of Columbia Art Bank, En Foco, Lehigh University, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.

Muriel Hasbun is Chair of Photography and Associate Professor at the Corcoran.
