Bruce Barnbaum of Granite Falls, WA entered photography as a hobbyist in the 1960s. After 40 years, it is still his hobby; it has also been his life's work since 1970. He has taught workshops since 1972.
Bruce's acclaimed textbook, The Art of Photography, An Approach to Personal Expression (2010 by Rocky Nook and Photographic Arts), contains detailed information on digital approaches to photography and traditional approaches to photography. Its greatest strength is the emphasis on producing personally creative photographs that convey meaning rather than just "capturing" what is before your eyes.
His new and unique book, The Essence of Photography: Seeing and Creativity (October, 2014, Rocky Nook) will improve your skills of seeing and of producing new, different, and high quality work with lasting meaning.
His classic book in four movements, Visual Symphony, was published in 1996 by Alfred van der Marck Editions.
