The Cambridge dictionary describes a polycrisis as "a time of great disagreement, confusion, or suffering that is caused by many different problems happening at the same time so that they together have a very big effect". In this age of the polycrisis we are inundated with an ever-increasing gamut of issues and specific crisis and wicked problems that can seem unsurmountable. Examples of this include biodiversity, agricultural practices, migration, rising sea levels, water resources, carbon emissions, temperature increases, transportation, and colony collapse, etc.
This panel seeks to untangle the issues which contribute to the polycrisis and how we as individuals and communities can create opportunities to engage through empathy, resilience, building partnerships, and making meaningful actions, no matter the size. All relevant projects or undertakings will be considered, however those which are environment-focused or enviro-social focused will be provided preference.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
