Increasing numbers of MFAs are graduating to find that tenure-track positions have disappeared and those who leave a tenure-track position may have little hope of finding another. Like a bad, but necessary breakup, it is okay to acknowledge that you might be better off without your toxic relationship with higher-ed. Finding employment that provides a living wage in one's academic field may require a new approach. Whether it is working outside of academia or infiltrating the administration itself, there are possibilities for you to be professionally successful, properly compensated, and happy. Join us as we discuss surviving a breakup with the academy, maintaining our scholarship, and helping you do the same.
