After uncovering boxes of photographs that captured my family's history for more than a century, I had an urgency to preserve these images, and thus preserve my family. By fragmenting the images that make up the visual culture of my family as American Ashkenazi Jews and utilizing alternative processes, I construct photographs on the foods of my upbringing. As fleeting as the memories captured in the original photographs themselves, my photographic sculptures decay and their existence is completely temporary.
