This workshop will focus on how educators can create a more inclusive curriculum and classroom for LGBTQAI2S+ students. Drawing from my experiences as a queer person, scholar, educator, and activist, I will offer strategies fellow educators can use to expand the scope of their courses to include cultural contributions of those with intersectional points-of-view. The workshop will also address the importance of acknowledging students on their own established terms in the context of in-class communities. With these new tools, educators can create opportunities for students to imagine their own queer futures where LGBTQAI2S+ people play an essential role in research, politics, culture, and art.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
