Megan Jacobs
Thursday, March 21 - 3:00PM to 3:30PM
Westmoreland
This presentation will consider photography's role as a social and political tool. Megan Jacobs will share her creative work which explores environmental grief through a photographic investigation of the interconnection of motherhood and the climate crisis. The presentation queries: 1) What does it mean to parent in the time of climate crisis? 2) How should we acknowledge environmental grief and our uncertain future? 3) How do we reconnect with the Earth and begin to mend a damaged planet? The artwork is intersectional and interdisciplinary by nature, aiming to collapse boundaries between disciplines and personal and public spheres.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
