For a decade between the 1960s-1970s my father worked as a hunting guide in the Alaskan wilderness; memories of my childhood are embedded with myths and legends of this place. Over the past 12 years, and across multiple bodies of work, my creative research has responded to a family archive of hunting photographs. This presentation is a poetic unraveling of my practice as it continues to be in conversation with that history--exploring notions of legacy, tradition, memory, and environmental consequence.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
