In the heart of South Central Pennsylvania's bucolic Amish community is our host city, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Just 80 miles from both Philadelphia and Baltimore, Lancaster was among the earliest inland British colonial settlements, and served as the capital of the United States in 1777 (albeit for one day!). Today, downtown Lancaster is a charming, highly walkable, diverse urban center, with dozens of art galleries, museums, boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and our sponsor institution Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. During your visit be sure to stop by the Lancaster Central Market, the oldest continuously-operating farmer's market in America.
