Rebecca Sittler's photographs examine presidential museums, where "history" intersects with the complexities of photographs, replicas, and ephemera, and meets viewers' subjective projections. Viewed as an archive of political masculinities, and informed by her father's encounter with a former president, Sittler questions the limits of these narratives on the national imagination.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
