Osamu James Nakagawa received a MFA from the University of Houston, and currently he is an associate professor at Indiana University in Bloomington. Nakagawa is a recipient of the 2009 Guggenheim fellowship and 2010 Higashikawa New Photographer Award in Japan. Nakagawa's work is shown internationally. His work is included in numerous public collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art; The George Eastman Museum; The Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography; The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; and Nelson Atkins Museum of Art; among others.
