This presentation reveals the origin of the artist's ongoing portrait series, Real Lyric. It speaks to the historical, personal, and artistic derivations of the project while highlighting the issues inherent to art from marginalized people. It also addresses concept development and distillation. Power dynamics within the realization of the social self finally leads to the suggestion of love as methodology for addressing the humanity of other (-ed) people. Love as a concept creates a common protagonist and does not beg the viewer for acceptance but asserts the creator's empathy as power. All outside is a chance for reflection.
