Susan Worsham was born in Richmond, Virginia with a childhood spent wandering different neighborhoods. She took her first photography class in college while studying graphic design.
In 2011 she was named one of Photo District News 30 Emerging Photographers to Watch. Oxford American has also named her a New Superstar of Southern Art. Her solo shows include Candela Books + Gallery in Richmond, Virginia; Light Work in Syracuse, New York; and The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New Orleans.
In her most recent body of work she explores coming to terms with the loss of her brother who committed suicide.
