Jeffrey Opp: "The Photographic Book as an Instrument for Change"

Opp's work utilizes the strategy of fusing images and text into books to probe, question, and alter the economic system of which we are all a part. He will talk about how text can sabotage an easy reading of photographs while photos in turn can prevent a cursory reading of the text. This disconnect in Opp's work allows the viewer to reevaluate their role as a participant in a global system. He aims for a work of creative non-fiction that allows room for the audience's insights and experiences to drive them to action.
