Honore Ballroom
Drawing upon the rich Fluxus practice of incorporating humor, performance and everyday objects, the team of Hillerbrand+Magsamen presents their work that expands their personal family life into a contemporary art conversation about family dynamics, suburban life and American consumer excess. Whether printing a photograph on a polar fleece blanket or cutting huge holes into the walls of their home to make a video, they are interested in discussing our domestic and cultural landscape. This new kind of suburban fluxus generates work that documents and re-contextualizes our culture, the role of the camera in contemporary art and challenging presumptions of the everyday.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
