"Inarticulate Speech of the Chart: Investigating the Scientific Concept in Photography"
Steve Bliss is currently the dean of fine arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. Steve earned a BA in studio art at the University of New Hampshire and a subsequent MFA in photography from Ohio University in 1982. His early practice revolved around a variety of media that incorporated a graphic look borrowed from scientific studies (and subsequent illustrative renderings that were developed by various media outlets for public consumption). Since that time, he has followed this trend as an educator and remains keenly interested in work that balances the rational with the poetic, the means to explain concretely versus the slipperiness of photographic interpretation.
