Phil Mistry started one of the first digital camera classes in New York in the mid-nineties at New York's International Center of Photography, and also set up the digital photography showroom of B&H. He holds an MFA from SUNY and has lectured for the New York Press Photographers Association, LaGuardia College, Arizona Newspaper Association and Birmingham Museum of Art. In 2003 Popular Photography asked him to start a national workshop series with Sony sponsorship, called Digital Days, www.DigitalDaysPhoto.com which has travelled the country and successfully completed over 250 workshops with 18 scheduled in 2011.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
