"Why Are You Teaching That? The Importance of Publishing Contemporary Photography Education Research
Keith Shapiro, associate professor of integrative arts at Penn State, has been a photographer and photographic educator for over twenty-five years. His teaching has focused on the use of innovative technology. He began teaching digital photography in 1997 at Penn State's pioneering Digital Photography Studio Program. Since 2003, he has taught photography using novel, entirely online class formats for both general education non-majors and photo-career oriented majors.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
