Two decades after Jack the Ripper terrorized London in the 1880s, twenty victims were found within two miles of the current site of the 2011 conference site, the Atlanta Sheraton Hotel, victims of a person (or persons) that U.S. newspapers called "Atlanta's Jack the Ripper." Stephen Chalmers will discuss the media fascination with serial murder, and will present work from his series "Unmarked," documenting the sites where victims of serial murder were found on the west coast.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
