Friday, March 11 - 3:00PM to 3:45PM
Capitol North
I invite the landscape into my work, instead of observing from afar. I take cues from the natural world, looking within it for existential understanding, and integrating what I find back into photographically based installations. I am interested in the psychological and physical experience of space, and how to transform it to be felt by others. Chosen works are artist book Des Choses àpropos du Carmel (Musée Niépce, France) and three site-specific installations using video, audio and text: La Traversée (Seattle), There Are Some Things You Cannot Forget (The Camargo Foundation, France), and Uncovering the West Tributary (Bellevue).
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
