Second Life is one of many multi-user 3D virtual worlds. In virtual worlds, users explore, socialize, and participate in individual and group activities, trade goods and services, and travel virtually. This panel will examine the integration of Second Life technology into photographic education and discuss advantages and challenges in the classroom. By using tools that students are already using, and discussing best practices, the panel will discuss ways in which Second Life can be a useful tool in the creation of artworks and the promotion and education of photographic arts at the collegiate level.
