As DSLR video capabilities have improved, lens-based disciplines have found more crossover than ever before. Artists are using both still and moving images, and students are interested in taking advantage of all that new media have to offer. As technological developments make it easier to work in these different forms, questions remain about how photographers use moving media within their practice and how best to incorporate the moving image within photography curriculum. This session features panelists whose production is influenced by the moving image, and includes pedagogical and curricular ideas for incorporating the moving image into the photography classroom.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
