Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and podcasts are all tools used in the social media landscape. They provide citizen-generated content, venues for sharing information, and a platform for friends and family to connect. Many colleges are using these tools to market their programs to the world - not to mention keeping their own college community up to date. But how are Educators using these tools in the classroom? Are they effective? How are boundaries between the "social" and "educational" aspects of these tools kept? And how are issues such as privacy, being handled?
