"A Life Reviewed: George Eastman Through the Viewfinder" is a photographic biography of Eastman, the founder of Kodak. One of photography's most significant entrepreneurs, Eastman recognized photography's power at a time of many scientific and industrial advances. These images depict details from his life photographed through the viewfinders of old Kodak cameras. The use of the old camera as a mediating device involves Eastman's products within the work while creating an aesthetic that is neither of the present or the past. The framework of biography allows for a blending of factual history and a nostalgic gaze back in time.
