Whether in large-scale public installations or major museum
exhibitions, Wing Young Huie creates up-to-the minute societal
mirrors of our changing cultural landscape. In 2001 the Minneapolis
Star Tribune named him "Artist of the Year" and in 2008 hailed
Lake Street USA as one of the 25 most important books ever
published about Minnesota. His other two books are Frogtown:
Photographs and Conversations in an Urban Neighborhood, and Looking
for Asian America: An Ethnocentric Tour. The University Avenue Project
will be published in 2010.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
