Message from the Chair
SPE WxSW Film Festival & Call For Entry
This fall all SPE chapter conferences will be held online. The Southwest & West chapters are working together to organize a digital film festival as part of our virtual conference. We are excited to announce our call for entry.
Submission EXTENDED Deadline: September 13th, 2020, 11:59 PDT
Submission Form: https://forms.gle/nDy2k3Kt3GinN9vGA
Call for entry description:
Photographers have a long tradition of experimenting with moving images. We believe that still photographers are producing time-based work that is rarely given an opportunity to be seen -- and since many of our schools are teaching aspects of filmmaking, now is the time to share what our fellow members are doing. Our virtual Film Festival takes advantage of the online format to celebrate the cinematic creativity of SPE members.
The vocabulary of traditional filmmaking is quite well understood, so we are looking for video or moving image content that stretches the medium and its definitions in any way. We are looking to showcase the range and depth of what is possible today.
Accepted work will be streamed premiering on October 10th and available through October 16th, 2020 as part of the SPE West x Southwest Film Festival virtual presentation. This event will be available to all Society for Photographic Education members.
Submission EXTENDED deadline: September 13th, 2020, 11:59 PDT
