about
I graduated from Arizona State University in 1986 with a BFA specializing in Photography. At ASU I studied under Bill Jay, Bill Jenkins, Tamara Kaida, Jack Stuler, Eric Kronenegold, Jim Hajicek. and Van Deren Coke.
While at ASU, I began a photography project documenting the Pasadena Police Department in California. This series is one of my best known bodies of work and led me in to a career in law enforcement to support my photography. After retiring from that career I have concentrated almost totally on my photography.
I am a Documentary Photographer with several long term bodies of work which can be seen on my website. I published the book "Santa Anita" in 1991 and I am exploring several other publishing opportunities currently. I have exhibited my work in over 40 group and solo exhibitions and have prints in the following permanent collections: The Center for Creative Photography (Tucson), The Fogg Museum (Harvard), The University of New Mexico Art Museum, California State University Long Beach Museum, and The Chicago Historical Society.
My current focus is documenting the events of 2020 and beyond, I have launched a second website exclusively dedicated to this body of work.
