Body as Projected Site

The portrait photograph captures a moment of who we are. Yet, Identity is something we do across space and time. This 4 hour experiential workshop provides an opportunity for participants to identify, examine, and reflect on how we use photographs to project and perform our identity and selves. Unpacking the meaning of identity and of photography's role within it to shape and define social interactions and inequities are the focus of Body as Projected Site. Each participant's body will receive projections from self selected/created images and be photographed by shiloh burton. Reflecting on our personal relationship to portraiture, we will determine our position and portrait, creating a collaboration between photographer and subject while blurring the lines of authorship/ownership. This experience is an opportunity to embody belonging and inclusion utilizing photography as a vehicle for self empowerment and definition.
Each participant receives their image(s) via email after the workshop
