Forget [me] Not

I have always been interested in the various facets and manipulations of time; how it affects objects, outlook, identity, and memory.

After watching my great grandmother's mind and body deteriorate over the last 10-15 years of her life, I began to wonder if the same thing would happen to me one day. Alzheimers is a legitimate concern in my family, and I have been very aware of the warning signs and degenerative effects. That being said, there is an almost 'hyper awareness' of the smallest slips in memory, no matter how innocent or humorous they may be. I am fascinated by the various forms these losses take after witnessing some of them first hand.

As a maker and a musician I wonder: What wold it feel like to forget how to use your hands? To look in a mirror and feel threatened by what looks back? To at times have unbridled certainty regardless of sensibility?

Through investigation of my own views, as well as familial mementos, photographs, writings, and stories, I make these photo-collages as a way to explore and interpret every possible outcome within
