Frank Mercado is retired after 40+ years as a software engineer and engineering manager in the defense industry.In the last millenium he earned a MS (CompSci) from Loyola Marymount. During his working career he pursued photography as an avocation by building a darkroom in his home, taking community college classes, reading books, going to galleries, and collecting fine art prints. Since retiring at the end of 2009 Frank has enrolled at the University of Colorado Denver and is currently pursuing a BFA in Photography. Raised in an era that prized Fine Art photography as defined by Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand, Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and the other early 20th century Modernist masters, Frank intends to pursue Fine Art photography in their timeless tradition.
