In the Spring of 2016 I spent 100 days teaching university students aboard a ship that circumnavigated the globe passing through various waterways en route to eleven different countries. For the 700 passengers on board, every day unveiled new geographic territory, people and experiences. In contrast to the ample public space we all shared, these photographs consist of daily pauses between periods of work contained by my private window frame. The color of the vast oceans, rivers and seas containing subtle hues on the edges of the horizon suggest an immense expanse; yet the portals contain fleeting intimacies that timelessly linger in the imagination.
There are a total of 80 window frames in all - which can be printed at largest as (3) 40x40 inch panels showcasing all 80 images and installed together or can be curated in smaller groups and sizes.
