Nate Mathews is a Chicago based photographer who's work explores post-war architecture. In one project, Ersatz, he examines how society responds to institutional modern architecture. In his more recent work, Nuclear Policy, Mathews investigates U.S. Government facilities that remain from the Cold War. Mathews received his M.F.A. in Photography from Columbia College Chicago in 2008. He is an Assistant Professor of Photography at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
