reDiscovering the Grand: A Photographic Collaboration and Exploration of the Grand River and its Watershed

Image Maker Presentation by Nathan Abramowski & Jason D Rutter

Friday, October 17 - 9:10AM to 10:00AM
Chazen Museum

reDiscovering the Grand is a photographic project that was born from a passion for documentary photography. Nate Abramowski and Jason Rutter have been photographing Michigan specific themes throughout their careers. This new endeavor focuses on the longest river in Michigan, the Grand River. This recent body of work establishes a new index of images that look to highlight the complexities of conscious environmental attitudes with a storied past. This site-specific investigation looks to highlight some of the idiosyncrasies of the river. This presentation will work through the development of a collaborative documentary style, the current body of work, and the future of reDiscovering the Grand.

The Chazen Museum is located at 750 University Avenue on the UW Madison campus. Admission is free. The museum is open to the public.
