Image Maker Presentation by Bradley Peters
Friday, October 17 - 11:30AM to 12:30AM
Conrad A. Elvehjem Building, Room 150
My presentation will focus on the influences of biography, education, failure, and self imposed limitations that have helped shape my current project, New Matters. I will discuss my use of archives as a way to rule out possible solutions in image making and my conscious choice to embrace the inherent potential of bad ideas. Confronted with the reality that many contemporary projects essentially feel like ultra specific versions, of preceding bodies of work, I will talk about my shift in philosophy regarding the role of ideas in photography and offer an alternative method to approaching a subject.
