UA LITTLE ROCK TO HOST PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITIONS: Todd Hido, Angela Strassheim, and SPE Photography Members UA Little Rock School of Art and Design presents four new shows for the fall
Little Rock, Ark. (Jun. 11, 2026) - The Windgate Center of Art + Design will host four new exhibitions Todd Hido: A Series of Small Decisions; Invictus: Photographs of Angela Strassheim; SPE South Central Photography; and Intersection of Craft and Photography. These exhibitions were organized by Joli Livaudais, Director, School of Art and Design, and Brian Young, Gallery Director, University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
These exhibitions are designed to coincide with the South Central chapter of the Society for Photographic Education (SPE). SPE is the leading forum for fostering understanding of photography in all its forms and related media. SPE engages its worldwide membership and affiliated communities through a range of supportive platforms including national and regional conferences, events, and publications.
Todd Hido is a San Francisco Bay Area-based artist whose work has been featured in Artforum, The New York Times Magazine, Wired, FOAM, and Vanity Fair. His photographs are in the permanent collections of the Getty Museum, the Whitney Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum (NY), San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the de Young, the Smithsonian, and countless others. Hido will be the keynote speaker for the SPE South Central Conference.
Angela Strassheim is an American photographer living and working in Connecticut. Prior to receiving her MFA from Yale in 2003, Strassheim worked as a certified forensic photographer . In this capacity she produced crime scene, evidence, and surveillance photography in Miami (FL). Later, having moved to New York, she began to photograph autopsies as well. Museums and institutions holding her work include the Art Institute of Chicago , the Aperture Foundation (NY) the Minneapolis Center for Photography , Yale University Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles , and the National Museum for Women in the Arts (Wash. D.C.).
Joli Livaudais, Director of the School of Art and Design comments on the upcoming fall lineup, "The SPE conference combined with the series of exhibitions is just one indicator of our commitment to the field of contemporary photography. By bringing in so many nationally- celebrated artists, we hope to inspire our current art students and to engage our audiences with the highest offerings of contemporary art."
