Photographs in Printers Ink: Moderated by Kent Rush, UTSA
Participants: Dr. Peter Briggs, Texas Tech University Museum, Janet Flohr, Owner/Director, Hare and Hound Press, and Neal Cox, Stephen F. Austin State University.
Photographs in Printers Ink will explore photo mechanical prints as photographs, primarily traditional copper plate photogravure, photo polymer photogravure, collotype and carbon transfer if not more. The panel will unpackaged questions like: Do photo mechanical processes produce nostalgic or anachronistic feeling products? Does the "look" of the process in the print convey content in any manner? And, why do we keep bashing our heads against the wall? are we just romantics? technicians?
