Drift Alignment uses astrophotography and celestial navigation techniques, alongside traditional photography and video to seek out an alternative view of the landscape surrounding the US-Mexico border in southern Arizona. In this ongoing series connections between celestial phenomena and the demarcation of space, especially as it exists along the border, are used to find new ways of visualizing the complex and contested history of the region.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
