Jamie Pittinos is a lover of obsolete process. They were born by a glistening lake in Northern Michigan, and discovered their livelihood in Detroit, moving to the city at the age of seventeen.
Currently a BFA and BA candidate at Wayne State University in the Photography and Gender Studies departments, Jamie has found their home in the darkroom and in DIY queer spaces. By using corruptive and augmentative processes to alter the theoretical biology of their photographs, their work explores how both chemistry and the body are transmutable and nonbinary.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
