Gearshifts and Whitewalls: Automobiles in Histories of Photography
Historian of photography Andrew E. Hershberger received a Ph.D. from Princeton. He has been an Ansel Adams Fellow at the Center for Creative Photography in AZ, a Coleman Dowell Fellow at NYU, the inaugural Teti Fellow at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University, and a Resident Fellow at the McCracken Research Library in WY. Most recently, Hershberger was selected to join a group of twelve professors at Yale University for their Summer Teachers Institute in Technical Art History (STITAH). He has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and a large (86 edited articles) compendium entitled Photographic Theory: An Historical Anthology (Wiley-Blackwell). At SPE in New Orleans, Hershberger received an SPE Insight Award.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
