Have you ever wanted to create breathtaking portraits like the legendary photographers of the past? This immersive workshop is designed to teach photographers how to achieve the dramatic and sophisticated lighting styles reminiscent of classic Hollywood glamour portraits—think George Hurrell or Horst P. Horst.
We'll explore both the theoretical foundations and the practical applications of these iconic lighting techniques. Through hands-on experience, participants will learn to work with continuous lighting and studio strobes, using modifiers and other tools to shape light with precision. Emphasis will be placed on mastering the interplay of highlights and shadows to craft striking, timeless images.
As participants gain a solid understanding of lighting principles, we'll also explore how these classic techniques can be adapted to contemporary photography—whether in fashion, beauty, or fine art. By the end of the workshop, you'll have the skills and confidence to create portraits that echo the elegance of the past while speaking powerfully to the present.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
