"The Girl of My Dreams"
Saturday, November 08 - 10:00AM to 10:50AM
Marriott, Commonwealth Ballroom
Stacy Renee Morrison's photographs weave the story of Sylvia DeWolf Ostrander (1841-1925), based upon the remnants of her life she left behind in a small trunk that was abandoned for garbage on a New York City street. As an obsessive detective, Morrison retraces Sylvia's footsteps in order to discover what remains from her life. Her ancestral homes, journals, correspondence, clothing and other ephemera are inspiration. This lecture will present photographs from The Girl of My Dreams along with a chronicle of Morrison's research methods and process for going back in time to enter Sylvia's world.
