Rita Lombardi is a photographic artist based in Providence, RI. She is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Photography at the University of Connecticut. Previously she was Associate Professor of Photography in central New York state and has recently returned to her roots in Providence RI. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries nationally; in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Louisville, and throughout New England. She has been published in both print and online publications, including F-Stop Magazine, Afield Magazine, Redivider Literary Journal, Psychology Today, and Blank Canvas Magazine. Her photographs can be found in private and public collections including the Munson Williams Proctor Art Museum where she had a solo exhibit of her work On Libraries. She is currently working on a long-term series, From the Garden Shed, which includes photographs and poems about the confluence and divergence of life as a mother/artist.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
