D'Angelo Lovell Williams (b. 1992, Jackson, Mississippi) earned his BFA from Memphis College of Art in 2015 and his MFA from Syracuse University in 2018. He is a recent graduate of Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and a recipient of the En Foco Photography Fellowship. Recent solo presentations include Higher Pictures (2017 and 2018); Spark Contemporary Art Space, Syracuse (2016); and Beauty Kings (2015), SALTQuarters Gallery, Syracuse. His work was also on view in Colour Somewhere, Lipscomb University, Nashville (2019); Gendered, The Mint Museum, Charlotte (2017); and Queering Space, Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven (2016).
Williams has been reviewed in The New York Times by Roberta Smith and featured in VICE Dazed Digital, W magazine, Out Magazine, Newspaper Magazine, Strange Fire Collective, The Ones We Love, and It's Nice That. He is a Critical Mass Top 50 winner, the winner of the PDN Photo Annual student category and a finalist of Magenta's Flash Forward, 2018.
