Finding Our Place is a documentary portrait and video project examining changes in the LGBTQ community by revisiting a group of gay and lesbian people 16 years after originally photographing them. The environmental portraits offer a glimpse into the homes and spaces of the gay and lesbian subjects, while the video interviews investigate queer dating, marriage, and parenthood. The legalization of same sex marriage in the United States in 2015 inspired the series. This project is a reflection on how far acceptance of LGBTQ people has come in the last 16+ years.
