Miranda Maynard is an MFA candidate in her second year at the University of Georgia. She studied cinematography at the University of North Carolina, School of the Arts and received a BA in Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina, Asheville. She co-founded The Asheville Darkroom, a not-for-profit, public darkroom and educational photo space in Asheville, NC. She was an artist in residence at Artists Collaborative Residency and Exhibitions (ACRE) in 2012, and has shown her work in Chicago, Miami, and throughout North Carolina.
