Dennis Kiel was the Chief Curator at The Light Factory Contemporary Museum of Photography and Film from 2007-13. Beginning in January 2013, he also served as Interim Executive Director. Before joining TLF, Kiel worked at the Cincinnati Art Museum where he was Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs for 24 years. He also taught The History of Photography at Northern Kentucky University. Throughout his career, he has curated numerous exhibitions, served as a member of The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) panel titled "American Masterpieces: Visual Arts Touring (2009), and reviewed portfolios at Houston Fotofest, Review Santa Fe, Photo Alliance San Francisco, and Slow Exposures. He is also a pre- screener for Photolucida's Critical Mass competition and was the sole adjudicator for the Tennessee Arts Commission's FY 2014 Individual Artist Fellowship in Photography. Kiel received a BFA in Graphic Design from Ohio University and an MA in Art History from the University of Cincinnati.
