Brittany Nelson (b. 1984, Great Falls, MT)
received her BA in photography from Montana State University and her MFA in Photography from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2011. Recent exhibitions include David Klein Gallery (Detroit, MI), The Downtown Fair at Frieze New York, Art Miami at Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Platform Los Angeles, The Cranbrook Art Museum, The Museum (Greenwood, SC), VisWeek (Seattle), New Mexico State University, 1708 Gallery (Richmond, VA),
22 Berwyn (Chicago, IL), Ficciones Typografika (Minneapolis, MN) and Art Aspen (Aspen, CO). Brittany was awarded the Fish/Pearce Prize for excellence in process based photography from
The Print Center (Philadelphia, PA), has been commissioned by the Cranbrook Science Museum, and has been collected by the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, the Cranbrook Art Museum, New Mexico State University, and numerous private collections. Brittany's research has been published in multiple textbooks including the upcoming release Hand Crafted Process from Zhejiang Province Arts Press, China.She is currently a Visiting Artist at Virginia Commonwealth University, and has previously taught at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the College of Visual Arts, USC Columbia, and Montana State University.Brittany is represented by David Klein Gallery, Detroit.
