Miranda Maynard
Saturday, October 11 - 9:00AM to 9:30AM
Jenkins Fine Art Center Rm 1326
For Miranda Maynard the constructed image is a means of creating factual ambiguities, fake evidence that reveals personal truths. Her work often begins as a question, and she manipulates photography's complex relationship with Truth to build answers that are true enough. In "Working Outside the Frame," she will present her work and discuss how it has evolved from a performance-based exploration of the constructed image, to a study of the relationship between her own experience of puberty and Clinton-Lewinsky sex scandal.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
